29-01-09 Slab Down

Yay, slab is down.
I took some photos last night and went back out this morning and the concrete pump was on site. Hung around for 1 truck worth of concrete then headed off.
Went back this afternoon, and the slab is done!

27-01-09 Waffle Pods laid

After a nice long weekend, it was raining in the morning.
I was not expecting anything to be done today. I had called the SS in the morning and he called me back in the afternoon. We arranged to meet up and when I got to the site the Waffle Pods were down. The remainder of the reinforcement will be laid tomorrow and the slab will be laid on Thursday..

23-01-09 and 24-01-09 Drainage done

Drove out to the block yesterday afternoon and it looked like it had been cleaned up from the day before when the piers were poured. It was raining quite heavy so I was unable to take photos.
Went out this morning, and could see the plumbers had laid the drains for the bathroom, ensuite laundry and kitchen.
Coming along nicely now...

22-01-09 Piers done. Outline done

I had to go up to Rouse Hill to sort out some stuff, (good excuse to go past the block) and the concretors were hard at work this morning. From what I could see, the pier holes were done, and the rest of the outline was done. The floorplan is now starting to take shape. No longer do i look at the plans and imagine the size of the rooms..We also have a portaloo out the front!

After work, grabbed the camera and took some more snaps! By the time I had returned, the Piers were filled with Concrete...

21-01-09 Concretor started

Was out on site today. There was a small amount of formwork laid at the rear of the block..
No photos, it was raining in the afternoon and the storms were rolling in...

16-01-09 Site scraped

After a long week at work, a fellow worker had advised they think there was some work going on at the block.
Later in the afternoon, I received a call from the builder, who advised the same.

Sure enough, the block has been scraped, and we are on our way!

13-01-09 Tile Selection

As we work close by to Di Lorenzo tiles, we had spent a fair amount of time looking through all the selections. Before going in making final choices, we had been in and picked up some great deals on some feature tiles. Selection was still difficult (there is so much choice!) and eventually we finalised our choices. We didn't get any samples, so you will all have to wait until they are laid!
